Photography and fashion have such a dynamic relationship. Of late conceptual photography is being merged with fashion photography to create some pretty breath-taking photos. What I mean when I say ‘conceptual’ is when you use a specific location or props as the main focus of the photo, and then you’ve got the model posing with the specific outfit. All in all it’s really fun to shoot because you’re not restricted in movement or style, plus it just adds a very creative and unique look overall 🙂

As for the outfit, I wanted to mix patterns because that’s not something I usually do and I’m sure not many other people do either. I tend to play it safe and go with solid colors, but this combination seemed to work really well! I always say that basics are important, and I love my basic wear. This stripped black and white top from Forever 21 is so versatile because you can pair it with any color and type of skirts, jeans, leggings, or even shorts! It’ll go great with solid colors or even simple patterns like the leggings I am wearing. This outfit is also a very simple summer outfit that I can wear anywhere! The floral leggings from Reliance Trends adds that summery touch. Accessories wise just go with your gut and whatever mood you’re in! Ive paired this outfit with a white watch with gold accents and a white pearl bracelet, along with a black circle bag- I usually go for a minimalistic look 🙂

Now even though I said the top is from Forever 21, which is expensive to most people, that doesnt mean you cant shop there! The sale section has amazing selections for you to choose from, and you can take a look at their online collections. I know it sucks that there isn’t a Forever 21 in Chennai but I’m sure it’ll pop up soon 😉

Rishika Nath, a close friend, is an aspiring photographer who has an amazing eye for conceptual photography, you can have a look at her tumblr where she showcases most of her photographs 🙂

Enjoy 🙂

With all my recent free time, I’ve decided to step up my blogging game and dabble in food styling/photography.

I don’t have an oven so that limits the number of recipes I can make but I try my best to find recipes with everyday staples.

This time I made an oreo milkshake

Ingredients: (Serves 2)

1 Pack of oreos

Chocolate Syrup

2 Cups Vanilla Ice cream

1 Cup Milk

Apparatus:

A mixer

First what you’re going to do is ope your pack of oreos and keep about 5 oreos aside for the toppings. Then you’ll take the rest of the oreos and crush them into smaller pieces. You can just put them into your mixer, but my mixer would get stuck if I tried to grind the large pieces so I just smashed mine with a knife on a cutting board. Plus it makes you feel a little fancy by working on your knife skills 😉

Now comes the easy part, the mixing. Just add the oreos, milk and ice cream into your mixer.  Mix until you get a nice consistency, you can always add more scoops of ice cream if you want your milkshake to be thicker!

The presentation can be a little tricky and messy. I used the chocolate syrup to coat the bottom of my glasses to give a nice look. Then just pour in your milkshake!

For the toppings you can do two things:

     – Do what I did, take the rest of the oreos and crush them into smaller pieces and simply throw them on top of your milkshake.

     – For a more ‘fine-dining’ touch you can grind the oreos into powder and use that as a topping.

Voila! It’s a pretty simple recipe to make, but I’ve never thought of making it. It’d be something I’d soend too much money on when I go out, but it’s super easy to make right at home!

*I prefer thicker milkshakes, so I put my milkshake in the fridge before I ate it, and it basically tasted like an oreo ice cream!

Cheers!

Theosophical Society

I’m sure everyone that resides in the ECR-Adyar area or beyond has been to the Theosophical Society, also known as the Huddleston Gardens is a unique place to visit.

It’s one of those places where you tell yourself you’ll definitely go one weekend, but it keeps slipping away.

Here’s something most of you might not have known, I didn’t, “professional” cameras aren’t allowed inside the grounds. I’m not sure why this is, but they’ve got a strict rule against it. Camera phones are allowed, so I was in luck!

The Huddleston Gardens has a lot of history making it a must see place for history buffs, but the appeal is the layout and scenery of the gardens.

It’s best to go in the evenings when the TS is open from 2 PM – 4 PM.

The Theosophical Society is a great place to just wander aimlessly.

My favorite spot in Singapore was definitely Arab Street, because of the rich culture you could feel flowing through the streets. Beautiful silk saris on display down an entire road. The grandeur of the mosque. The beautiful graffiti in unknown nooks and crannies of Arab Street. It was all brilliant and enticing.

Of late I’ve been putting up photographs of mine because after finding so many of them I want to share the beauty of where ever I have traveled or the places I have witnessed. After my finals are over which is next week, I will get back to my regular postings, but until then enjoy trendy talers! 🙂

Cheers
